一、move 动词。意思是“移动、搬动、挪动、驱动、走动”。指的是“从一处移往另一处”，是最普通、用途最广的词。例如：

The train was already moving. 火车已经开了。

Time moves quickly. 光阴似箭。

That chair is in the way, move it please. 那把椅子碍事，请搬开。

He was planning to move his office to Berlin.他已计划把办公室搬到柏林去。

二、remove 动词。意思是“拿开、移动、脱掉、去除、撤职、辞退、搬家”。侧重指离开原来的地方、职位，而作一种新的或者暂时的安排或改变。例如：

He removed his desk to another office.他把桌子搬到另一间办公室去了。

The traveller removed his wet coat. 这位游客把湿衣服脱掉了。

They have decided to remove to a warm climate.他们决定搬到一个气候温暖的地方去。

Remove my name from your mailing list.把我的名字从你的邮寄名单上删掉。

三、shift 动词。意思是“搬动、移动、转移、改变，变换位置”。往往含有“较容易地更动、不稳定”、或出于动机不纯而把过错、责任转嫁给他人等意义。例如：

Lend me a hand to shift this piano , will you ?搭把手帮我搬一下钢琴，好吗？

They shifted about for several years. 他们搬家都好几年了。

He tried to shift the blame for his mistakes onto his colleagues. 他自己犯了错误，却试图把责任推给同事。

We need to shift the focus of this debate.我们需要转换一下辩论的焦点。
