《Platypus!》
The sun is setting.
太阳快要落山了
Many animals are going to sleep.
很多动物们都要去睡觉了
But the platypus is just waking up.
但是鸭嘴兽却刚醒来
Splash!
The platypus dives under the water.
“扑通”一声鸭嘴兽跳入水中，溅起了水花
She twists and twirls.
She spins and swoops.
她潜入水下，扭来扭去，旋转翻腾
The platypus likes to play.
看鸭嘴兽玩得多开心呀
The platypus is hungry.
鸭嘴兽感觉有点饿了
She scoops up a mouthful of bugs and worms.
她用嘴舀起满满一嘴的虫子
Yum!
真好吃！
The platypus has thick, slick fur.
鸭嘴兽有厚厚的，光滑的皮毛
She has a long, strong tail like a beaver.
她长着又长，又强壮的尾巴像海狸一样
She is about as long as a pet cat.

But she is not as heavy.

The platypus has webbed feet and a bill like a duck.

She lays eggs, too.

The snake hisses.

The platypus growls.

The platypus scares off the snake.

It slithers away to find food somewhere else.

The platypus egg are safe for now.

The eggs hatch in about two weeks.

The tiny platypus babies drink their mom's milk.

They stay in the tunnel for four months

Now it is summer.

The platypus babies are good swimmers now.

They zip and zoom all night long.

The platypus family loves to play!
